Sure you know that most of a baby's day involves sleeping eating and bowel relief. Do you understand how a baby moves? Have you figured out the secret to infant development? So many people do not understand the little things about why a baby grows the way it does. Still others find the road from infancy to adulthood a mesmerizing one and learn everything they can about babies and their development.

Before they are born most infants are able to understand and recognize different songs and music types. By thirty four weeks of life the baby is able to recognize different songs. This means that over a month before the baby is due, they develop an ear for music! Some babies even pick up on the beat of a song and move around to it! Your baby has definite tastes and preferences even before he is born! Doesn't that astound you?

Did anybody ever tell you that when babies first start to grow, they grow a tail along with their other limbs? That's right! Your baby's tail starts to form at the same time that the other organs like the brain and the heart and the lungs begin to develop.

Even though you want to avoid mercury, you can still have fish-just make sure it is a mercury free species! Salmon is a fish that is highly recommended by doctors because it does not contain any mercury and it is full of vitamins and minerals that are good for you and your growing fetus. Some people believe that if you do not eat fish then your children will not have the same high levels of brain function or the same high skills for communication as those children born to women who did eat fish regularly while they are pregnant. This has not yet been proven beyond a doubt so if you do not eat fish, there is no need to panic.
